Attainment

In 2018, 86% of our pupils achieved the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths, combined (compared with 64% nationally and the forth highest in York).

  • Reading: 95% meeting expected standards (national: 75%)
  • Writing: 91% meeting expected standards (national: 78%)
  • Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 91% meeting expected standards (national: 78%)
  • Maths: 91% meeting expected standards (national: 76%)

Average scaled scores, where 100 is the expected national standard:

  • 108 average scaled score in Reading (national: 105)
  • 106 average scaled score in Maths (national: 104)
  • 109 average scaled score in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling (national: 106)
  • Note there are no scaled scores available for Writing.

Attainment: higher level

Scaled scores of over 110 are considered ‘high scores’.

10% of our pupils achieved a high level of attainment in Reading, Writing and Maths, combined (national: 10%).

  • Reading: 48% high scores (national: 28%)
  • Writing: 24% high scores (national: 20%) (in writing this is teacher assessment of children working at a greater depth)
  • Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 48% high scores (national: 34%)
  • Maths: 19% meeting expected standards (national: 24%)

Progress

The Department for Education measures progress from Key Stage 1 (KS1) to Key Stage 2 (KS2). Expected progress is zero, with anything above that being better than expected and negative numbers showing less than expected progress.
